Statement of Inclusion

Arkansas Table Tennis Academy is committed to a welcoming and inclusive environment. We believe that access to a healthful and purposeful life is a right afforded to everyone. We are committed to providing equal opportunity and inclusion to the Olympic sport of table tennis for all people regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ethnicity, age, physical or mental ability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or genetic information.

Racism, hate, and indifference to injustice have no place in the ARKTTA facility or in our community, and are not tolerated in any shape or form at ARKTTA. Systemic racism and patterns of social injustice impact the lives of our friends, family and neighbors every day. Black lives matter.  Transgender lives matter.  Black, transgender, and LGBQIA+ individuals and families are an important part of the ARKTTA family and of the global table tennis community. ARKTTA has always opened its doors for anyone who wants to be a part of our table tennis family.

We support inclusion in many ways, including:

  • Engaging members to understand their thoughts and feelings and asking for their ideas on the most important and active ways we can continue to stand up for social justice.

  • Identifying ways to better incorporate our no-tolerance policy into our mission, vision and values to explicitly and proudly state that people of any race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ethnicity, age, physical or mental ability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or genetic information are always welcome here.

  • Identifying local community organizations committed to eliminating racial inequality that need our support.

Through our ongoing awareness to create a welcoming environment for members and guests, youth, adults, seniors, parents and families, we continue to evolve with the ever-changing needs of our members and table tennis community. We welcome input and feedback as we take this journey together.

The ARKTTA Promise

At the Arkansas Table Tennis Academy, we believe that our diversity fuels learning and creativity, and promotes improved self-awareness and lasting health benefits through a safe and positive atmosphere. All members and guests will be respected without attention to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ethnicity, age, physical or mental ability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or genetic information. ARKTTA pledges its long-term commitment to taking a stand for positive change. We are stronger together when inclusion and acceptance are part of our core ideals.
